REEDVILLE—The historic skipjack Claud W. Somers is back where she belongs—dockside on Cockrell Creek at the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum, 504 Main Street, Reedville.

The skipjack was on the hard at Jennings Boatyard since last December for a major refit. The all-volunteer crew worked through all kinds of weather, much of it not all that pleasant. The weather was perfect for her return on Saturday, May 16.

The refit was possible through two grants totaling $100,000.
